Collective Wisdom: An Evening of Art and Community
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, relatives, neighbors, artists, and friends gathered at Culture Hub for the opening reception and artist panel for Collective Wisdom. Thank you to everyone who spent the evening with us, filled our space with conversation, and celebrated Indigenous creativity and community.
We are especially grateful to the artists whose beautiful work brought us together. Thank you for sharing your art and giving your time to speak about the relationships and creative processes behind it. Hearing about collaboration with other artists and the experience of touring with the exhibition offered us a deeper connection to the work on our walls and the people who brought it into the world.
Our thanks also go to the Culture Hub board members who joined us, Senator Nikki Nice, and Amira Newsom, who honored the gathering with her presence as our royalty. We were so glad to share this evening with you.
A special thank-you to Maria with Radlove, who generously donated her photography services to capture the event. Her gift helps us preserve the beauty of the evening and share it with our wider community.
Gatherings like this give us time to look closely, listen, and learn from one another. To everyone who contributed their creativity, time, and presence: thank you for making Collective Wisdom part of such a meaningful Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Culture Hub.
Keep Gathering With Us
There is more to look forward to at Culture Hub. Join us for our next Community Art Night on October 22, and watch for upcoming opportunities to gather around plant medicine, creativity, and Indigenous foodways. As Native American Heritage Month approaches, we’ll also share ways to connect with Indigenous artists, businesses, and cultural spaces across Oklahoma City.
You help keep this work going! Come to an event, invite a friend, share our programming, or reach out about volunteering and contributing your talents. Each is a way to strengthen the community we are building together.
If you have the means, please consider making a donation to Culture Hub. Your support helps sustain a welcoming space for Indigenous art, education, and connection—and makes more gatherings like Collective Wisdom possible.
Thank you for helping us keep our doors open and our community gathering.
