Join Us for a Winter Solstice Gathering at Culture Hub
As we approach the Winter Solstice—the longest night of the year—we enter a turning point in the seasonal cycle.
Across many of our communities, Winter has long been a time of slowing down, relying on what has been gathered, and turning inward toward reflection, healing, and community care.
In this spirit, we invite you to gather with us.
An Evening of Food, Culture, and Connection
Join us on Saturday, December 20, from 4:00–8:00 PM at Culture Hub for an evening centered on traditional foods, arts, dance, song, and shared learning. This gathering is open to the public and also serves as a way to uplift and support partner organizations working in Indigenous food sovereignty and wellness.
In collaboration with Native Farming Solutions, this Winter Solstice gathering brings together local food system stakeholders, tribal health and wellness programs, and members of the wider community. Together, we will explore how food, culture, and collective care support thriving Indigenous futures in Oklahoma City.
Guests are invited to enjoy locally grown produce prepared by local chefs while engaging in meaningful conversations about sustaining local food systems and strengthening community ties.
Part of a Seasonal Series
This event is part of Native Farming Solutions’ seasonal series of community gatherings, held near the Solstices and Equinoxes throughout the year. These gatherings are created to strengthen intergenerational relationships and to support urban Indigenous community members who may not have access to spaces centered on traditional foods, wellness, and cultural connection.
By gathering at these seasonal turning points, NFS facilitates honoring rhythms that invite reflection, relationship-building, and shared responsibility for one another.
