Our First Gourd Dance
Because we are more than a building. We are a third space for gathering, carrying tradition, sharing stories, and being together.
On Thursday, September 17, Culture Hub will welcome community into our space for something new: our first Gourd Dance.
Beginning at 5 p.m., relatives, families, and friends are invited to gather with us for a free, indoor, family-friendly evening of dancing, visiting, and being together in community.
Since opening our doors, we have imagined Culture Hub as more than a building. We want it to be a place where Indigenous community life can unfold naturally. As we host our first Gourd Dance, we are seeing that vision take shape.
This gathering has been brought together by our Men’s Drum Group, Head Staff and Dr. Cornel Pewewardy, whose time, knowledge, and care have helped make the evening possible. We are grateful to welcome them, our singers, dancers, and community into the Hub.
Whether Gourd Dance is familiar to you or you are simply looking for an opportunity to spend an evening in community, we hope you will come through, bring your family, and join us.
