Gather, Create, and Give Back: Join Bead & Tea at Culture Hub
Whether you are new to our community or have been around from the beginning, we'd love for you to join us in cultivating growth in the home we get to share.
As the leaves turn and the air grows crisp, Culture Hub Art Institute (CHAI) invites you to gather for Bead & Tea—a harvest-inspired celebration of creativity, community, and Indigenous artistry.
This inaugural event offers a chance to bead, sip, and connect while supporting CHAI’s mission to nurture Native artists and creative spaces in Oklahoma City.
“Events like Bead & Tea celebrate the strength of our collective stories and the power of art to build connection, healing, and opportunity for the future.”
— Kendra Wilson Clements, Founder of CHAI
What to Expect
Guests will craft their own hand-beaded jewelry in an intimate workshop led by Sarah Adams, co-founder of Matriarch, who will share guidance and reflections on the brilliance of Indigenous creativity.
Enjoy a curated selection of teas and seasonal snacks by Chef Jenn Snow of Junebug Catering, highlighting Indigenous culinary staples—honoring the harvest and Native food traditions.
“When we gather in spaces like CHAI, we’re not just creating; we are weaving our stories together, honoring our ancestors, and planting seeds of beauty and resilience for those who will come after us.”
— Sarah Adams, Co-founder of Matriarch
Earthen ephemeral designs by The Wild Mother Creative Studio will fill the space with color and fragrance, creating an atmosphere of abundance and gratitude. Guests are also invited to capture a portrait by photographer AJ Stegall, set against a TWM’s floral installation—a keepsake of beauty and belonging.
“Beads, like seeds, hold stories waiting to be sown. Each one passes through my hands like an exhale—steady, deliberate, alive. With every thread drawn through, I’m reminded that beauty is not a luxury—it’s lineage. Beading is ceremony: a quiet gathering of color, patience, and prayer. And like beads, my earthen floral companions reach toward me as I reach toward them. Together we echo the same truth—rising freely from the earth, carrying memory in our forms, reminding us that creation itself is an inheritance of grace. The designs guests will see are a reflection of gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us and an offering of connection for every guest who walks through CHAI’s doors.”
— Lauren Palmer, Principal Designer of The Wild Mother Creative Studio
